I am Gert-Jan Blom, in 2012 I completed the painting course at the art academy in Maasmechelen.
Before that I followed a number of years of portrait and model drawing and painting

I have a graphic background and that can sometimes be seen in my work.
I like to experiment with different painting and drawing techniques and materials.
I love the impressionists, especially how they play with the light in nature and architecture.
I have also been sculpting for 3 years, mainly with serpentine.
Now I'm working on a series of portraits, quite a challenge.
