Wim de Groot

My name is Wim de Groot and I have been active with this hobby since the end of 2019.
The main characteristic of my work is the combination of colors and symmetry.
All work pieces are plastified after the stamps are pasted to fix the pasting and prevent damage.
How did everything begin?
Until about the year 2000 I collected Dutch stamps. Besides a
"normal" collection of postfresh and stamped/used, at that time I also kept all the stamps I had duplicates. That led to a huge amount of stamps I wanted to do something with someday. In 2019, I used these stamps to make my own Christmas cards and that has been the beginning of a now rather out-of-control hobby. The result of all that cutting and pasting I have now had the opportunity to show at various places and the reactions are positive enough to continue with it for a while. As long as the stock of stamps lasts by the way, because that is where the limit of the possibilities lies.
In October 2021 I participated for the first time in the Art Route KIS (Kunst In Schinnen). Also for the route 2023 and associated exhibition in Castle Terborgh I have registered again.

As of June 18, 2023, I have my own website. www.postzegel-art.nl
